RELEASE | Lightworks, a split with Kr!z on Reclaim Your City

Following last year’s “Light in the Darkness”EP on Token, STERAC is reunited with the label’s boss, Kr!z. This time, however, in a somewhat different form.

The last split release Steve was involved with, took place all the way back in 2003. The techno internationalism is a driving idea behind Reclaim Your City so it was only appropriate to re-enter their world in a form of a shared release, a form the label truly enjoys.

STERAC’s first appearance on RYC took place in 2019. Another Moog on Acid from 2019 is a slamming tune with an tinge of 8-bit. The two tracks released now feel somewhat different, as both “Muff Case” and “Strike Icer” are pieces of driving Detroit techno – the former served with quite a direct approach, the latter in a pensive, classic STERAC style. The Kr!z side of “Lightworks”, on the other hand, is quite relentless and provides for a nice counterpoint to Steve’s tracks.

The record is, again, distributed via Rotterdam’s Clone. and is already supported by a variety of DJs… Eddie ‘Flashin’ Fowlkes, Mumdance, DJ Nobu and James Ruskin, to name a few.
