kis. – Steve Rachmad’s Birthday w/ DeWalta (DE), Enrique’s Groove, Steve Rachmad & Yotam Avni (IL) @ Studio 80, Amsterdam

Steve Rachmad’s legendary birthday-nights are well known for its stellar line-ups. Over the past years Rachmad has invited multiple friends and favourites like Ricardo Villalobos, Joel Mull, Josh Wink and Cobblestone Jazz for this special occasion. His birthday’s ended up in having a quarterly residency clubnight at his homebase, which now goes by the name of kis. On November 6th Steve will continue one of our favourite celebratory traditions, as he will be joined by kindred spirits from the electronic music scene once more.

During his birthday, Rachmad is inviting multiple personal favourites to join him during his birthday-special this week, and we’re pleased to announce that Yotam Avni will join us for the trip. The young Israel based DJ and producer has been on Rachmad’s wishlist for quite some time, now is the perfect moment to bring the two together. Avni is only in his early twenties and has already worked with artists such as Osunlade, Charles Webster and Terrence Parker, while releasing music on Yoruba, Transmat, Be As One and Robsoul. A truly talented artist to defintely keep an eye on.

Joining Yotam Avni and Rachmad in Studio 1 will be Germany based David Koch alias DeWalta. David’s introduction to the world at large, at least within the confines of underground house and techno, came when he adopted the DeWalta alias and launched the Meander label with Fabian Geimer and Jens Körmer. He has been releasing music on multiple labels (including his own) like Vakant, Kalk Pets and Cynosure ever since. Also being one of Steve’s absolute favourites we’re excited to finally have him over.

Hosting an all-nighter in Studio 2 will be one of Amsterdam’s finest selectors: Roy Lepoutre, better known as Enrique’s Groove. Expect music from all over the world, while being taken on a journey from Turkey to Brasil, Africa, India and back. Besides that, Lepoutre likes throwing parties himself as well, such as De Bollywood Bar-hosting he organized during Mysteryland last summer. Playing all-night-long isn’t quite something new for this crate digger – in fact he loves doing longer sets so he can tell a story and create an unforgettable vibe, while playing what he likes at that specific moment. This cosy happening in Studio 80’s backroom will be also one not to miss during Rachmad’s birthday.
