Steve Rachmad: Fruit of the Room (Wolfskuil Records)

After his amazing remixes for Tim Wolff’s ‘The Straight story’, we are proud to welcome one of our all time heroes back on board on Wolfskuil Records for a full 12”. Dutch legend Steve Rachmad helped shape the international techno scene with groundbreaking and classic releases on M-Plant, Music Man and his own Scorp and Ion imprints under at least a dozen different pseudonyms.

Steve has managed to stay as relevant today as he was 20 years ago. In order to accomplish that it is important to grow with time without losing that which makes your sound unique. Respect the past without becoming nostalgic and be open to new sounds and developments. The ‘Fruit Of The Room’ 12 inch is a perfect example of just that. Old school Detroit-inspired and acidic flavours are the central theme on both tunes, but the production technique Steve uses to create this vibe is very ‘now’. And that’s what we love here at Wolfskuil HQ. Modern & forward looking music with elements from past, present and future.

Enjoy!

Klartraum: Unique Shadow (Steve Rachmad remixes) (Lucid Flow)

Klartraum, the hotly tipped duo of Nadja Lind & Helmut Ebritsch lift the superb Unique Shadow from their forthcoming album and look to Terry Francis and Steve Rachmad for remix duties on this outstanding new single....

For those who do not know, Klartraum is the pairing of Helmut Ebritsch & Nadja Lind, two Berlin based producers who have previously recorded for imprints such as Soma, Morris Audio, Darkroom Dubs. They are set to launch their debut album Evolution on their own Lucidflow label later this summer but already there is a buzz of excitement about it with DJs such as Luciano, Steve Bug, Josh Wink & Laurent Garnier all getting behind their sound.

For the lead up to the album, Klartraum have selected one of the highlights from the LP, the superb Unique Shadow for a single release backed with remixes from Terry Francis and Steve Rachmad. The single kicks of with the original version of Unique Shadow, a beautifully warm and emotive piece of music underpinned by tight drum programming and brought to life with emotive spoken word vocals, vocals recorded by Ebritsch and Lind with Rabbi & Spiritual teacher Dr. Marc Gafni during a trip to Salt Lake City in 2009.

The first of the remixes comes from UK tech house legend Terry Francis who delivers a rolling acidic reworking that twists up the vocals and delivers an eerie yet rich mix that is certain to set floors alight, quality stuff.

The package is completed with 2 mixes from Dutch techno hero Steve Rachmad. His Vocal dub brings a metallic, jackin feel to bear with the vocals rubbing up against intense techy stabs and stripped drums, class! The Extended Instrumental mix takes the heart-rending melodies of the original and mixes them up with some inspired Detroit style strings and sci-fi sweeps to create a truly superb piece. This is a simply wonderful single from a duo that you are going to be hearing a lot about in the months to come. Enjoy.

Roberto: Logical Progression (Steve Rachmad remixes) (Artform)

Artform 0208 brings you a scorching set of remixes of up and coming UK Techno artist Roberto. Featuring not one but two Dutch techno legends who have both been an integral part of the label since its inception. Steve Rachmad (aka Sterac), Jerome Krom, joined by Artform boss Jamie Anderson deliver a knockout bout of classically crafted Techno, serving up a firm reminder why Artform continues to be at forefront of electronic innovation.

Basking in the warm reception from a plethora of releases over the last few years, Roberto’s music is already being championed by the likes of Ben Klock, DVS1, Speedy J and Shinedoe. Taken from his debut outing on Artform (0204), Dutch don Steve Rachmad delivers three top draw reworks of Logical Progression in his tough yet inimitable style. Delving deep into the depths of his studio archive, Rachmad dices and splices Roberto’s original into a storming trio of mixes that should appease enthusiasts and delight dance floors alike. Weighing in at nearly 8 minutes long, his “Remix” version goes straight for the jugular with a brooding stab centred epic. Bobbing and weaving every ounce of his savoir faire in this devastating encounter, the “Dub” and “Trip” versions display Rachmad’s finesse and style as he takes the analogue experience to the next level. Not to be outdone, Outland’s Jerome Krom steps into the arena with a jacked up mix to keep you firmly on your toes. Whilst Artform’s head-honcho takes an altogether deeper stance, dropping in percussion from his collection of Roland drum machines over stylish Detroit-esque synths and chords.

Originally set up in 1997 by Jamie Anderson, Artform has racked up over a decade’s worth of Detroit and Chicago influenced Techno and House championed by the likes of Richie Hawtin, DJ Sneak, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Dave Angel and Laurent Garnier. The label released the first records of Jesse Rose and Jamie Anderson as well as music and remixes by established artists, and is respected for playing an integral role pioneering the worldwide Tech-House phenomena.

Vince Watson: Pressure Part 2 (feat Steve Rachmad and Octave One) (Bio Music)

Vince Watson's Bio imprint is now back in full flow, and following on from the sublime ʻPressure' last month, we now have the 2nd installment of the release, with some very exclusive guest mixes and yet another killer track from Vince himself.

First up is Steve Rachmad, who has featured on Bio before, previously remixing the classic ʻAurelon' in 2004... So he's back this time to give ʻPressure' the Rachmad treatment.

2 Mixes are delivered here, one for the purists and one for the more minimalisic side of the fence. Both are fantastic examples of Steveʼs production skills and really take ʻPressure' into a different direction.

Next up is a brand new track from Vince... ʻSpirit', which takes us on a real journey from Amsterdam to Detroit. The track has been roadtested in Vince's liveshows for a while and perfected over time. The result is yet another dancefloor monster that only Vince can deliver.

Last but not least, we are very proud to welcome Octave One to the label for the first time... Octave One's remix of ʻSpirit' takes things in the direction that they are so imfamous for... Funk... and it really delivers. The Burden brothers really know how to create that vibe thats missing from so much music around today.
