Title: The Cockpit (Steve Rachmad remix)
Label: Systematic Recordings
Format: vinyl 12"
Catalogue number: SYST0060-6
Incl remixes by Steve Rachmad (listen here), Ekkohaus and Paul Woolford
Release date: October 7, 2009

[INFO]
„The cockpit“ is my personal favourite song of the Chelonis album and it has taken my sleepless night (and days) to watch out for the „right“ remixers. Now that all new versions are ready, I´m more than happy because all three fellows have felt the real vibe of the original song. A spezial thanx to Ekkohaus who delivered two different mixes and spent a lot of energy and pasison into these productions. And also „Merci“ to Steve Rachmad and Paul Woolford, guys who stand rather for techno, however improved their soul into creating passionated tech house! Chapeau! (Marc Romboy, September 28, 2009)

[SELECTED FEEDBACK]
Dave Seaman - "Rachmad mix is great!"
Nic Fanciulli - "Will play for these mixes for sure!"
Ceoltronic Radio - (RTE Ireland) - "This track is going to be massive. Amazing. Well done. Always a big fan of Chelonis. He's got a really good blend of remix artists involved in this track. I think it will appeal to a lot of people. Steve, you're a hero!"
Phonic Express - (RTE Ireland) - "Systematic is such a good label. The remix package here is wicked. Big supporter of Wooly and loving his remix but its the Rachmad that does the damage. I love that drawn out sound right up to the breakdown. Vocal really works too. Will be definitely playing this out. Thanks."
Orde Meikle - (Slam) - "Love this guys stuff - smooth vocals - excellent set of remixes."
Deetron - "Very very nice Ekkohaus Remix, really good oldschool vibe and use of the vocals, I like! I am loving the Steve Rachmad Remix but I'd like that one as a dub for once, is that anyhow possible?? :-)"

20 tracks every techno fan should know
Wednesday, 16 September 2009

Alongside Richie Hawtin, Joey Beltram, Terrace, CJ Bolland, etc., Beatportal lists Steve Rachmad's "Skyance" from 1998 as one of 20 tracks that every techno fan should know.

Steve Rachmad championed the soulful and deep sounds of Detroit in The Netherlands, and alongside Stefan Robbers, he is considered a forefather of Dutch techno.

Now a globally respected producer, DJ, and remixer, Rachmad’s productions tend to centre around instrumental grooves that combine fragmented melodies, funk, and soul.

A producer for over 25 years, Rachmad’s career began to reach new heights from 1996 onwards, and ‘Skyance’ on Belgium’s Music Man Records perhaps represents some of his finest work.

More info & listen to the track here.
